Move over Christian Bale, there’s a new man in town…a new Batman that is! Director Zack Snyder recently announced that 41 year old Ben Affleck will star as Batman in the new Warner Bros untitled sequel to “Man of Steel.”
So what’s better than one superhero hunk on the big screen? How about two? The upcoming movie is set to bring Superman, played by Henry Cavill, and Batman together. The movie will also feature A-list actors such as Amy Adams, who will play Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburnes as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Zack believes Ben is perfect for the role. In a recent interview he said, “(Affleck) has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter but, retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.”
The “Argo” director and star will be part of a new and exciting twist to this upcoming superhero drama. Snyder shared his idea of having Superman and Batman battle it out on the big screen, something that has never been done before.
Snyder said it is “beyond mythological to have Superman and [the]new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest superheroes in the world.”
Production for the movie is to begin next year and finish by July 17th 2015.
