While all the pop stars were celebrating at the “MTV Video Music Awards” last night, all of your favorite comedians were at the “Comedy Central Roast of James Franco” in Culver Studios.
Franco’s good friend, Seth Rogen was the roast master for the night. The two have starred in a number of films together including “Pineapple Express” and more recently “This Is the End”.
Other roasters were Jonah Hill, Aziz Ansari, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Nick Kroll, Jeff Ross, and Sarah Silverman.
While there was a variety of material used to roast Franco, the topic that was harped on the most was his performance as the host of the 2011 Oscars.
“You never really said what was going on that night, man,” Ross said to Franco. “You were like Billy Crystal-meth. You were a worse host than the AIDS monkey. The academy should have known when you combined Anne Hathaway and James Franco you get Anne Franco, which makes sense since you should have gone into hiding after that. Face it, Franco, you and Anne Hathaway had the comedic chemistry of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman,” Ross added per USA Today.
The roast will air on Comedy Central on September 2, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT.
