Kelly Clarkson and Will.i.am announced the 2013 “American Music Awards” nominations this morning, live on “Good Morning America.”
Miley Cyrus and Imagine Dragons will perform at the November 24th ceremony. AMA will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in downtown, L.A.
But who cleaned up and who was left out in the cold? ITM has the rundown!
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Leading the pack with six nominations, this years’ break-out “Thrift Shop” rap stars were nominated in almost every category they qualified for, including “Artist of the Year” and “Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album.” Macklemore has also been tapped to perform at this years’ “Grammy Nominations Concert” on December 6.
Unsurprisingly, Ms. T-Swift has continued her run of success with 5 AMA nominations. She’s already nominated for six awards at the Country Music Awards, and if all goes well this could be another bumper year for Swift.
The AMAs are seeing Timberlake with “20/20” vision: the multi-talented star, whose latest film “Runner Runner” is currently in theaters, scored 5 nominations this year.
Apparently ABC doesn’t mind a few “Blurred Lines,” the controversial singer received four nominations this year. Cyrus will be performing at the AMAs, so there may be a chance for a VMA-reunion.
The singer, and her 2013 album “Prism,” were conspicuously missing from the list of nominees.
