Film stars flooded the Beverly Hilton last night for the 17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards.

The ceremony, which starts the awards run-up to the 2014 Oscars, was teeming with movie stars, all hoping to make a good impression on the industry crowd.

There are no nominees for the HFAs, just honorees, so some absent names are likely to reappear for other ceremonies (we’re looking at you, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hugh Jackman, and Cate Blanchett).

Although the awards show wasn’t televised, IN THE MIXX has rounded-up the big winners. Watch out for these names, who’ll probably be coming up at every awards show for the rest of the season!

Julia Roberts caused a stir by accepting her Hollywood Supporting Actress award barefoot. She won for her performance in “August: Osage County,” the star-studded film which is generating a lot of buzz. Taking the award for Hollywood Actress was Sandra Bullock, for her performance in “Gravity.”

Matthew McConaughey scooped the award for Hollywood Actor, for “Dallas Buyers Club,” and his co-star Jared Leto won Hollywood Breakout Performance. Meanwhile Jake Gyllenhaal won Hollywood Supporting Actor for his harrowing performance in “Prisoners.”

With two directing award categories, the HFAs honored both Steve McQueen as Hollywood Breakout Director for “12 Years A Slave” and Lee Daniels as the Hollywood Director award winner for “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.” Either of these guys could win big over the coming season. But it was McQueen who drew Kanye West to the ceremony to personally present the award on Kim Kardashian’s birthday – apparently West is a big fan of the English director! West found a way to make it up to his girlfriend though…

And the HFAs didn’t forget the musicians. Chris Martin accepted the Hollywood Song Award on behalf of Coldplay for “Atlas,” which featured on the “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack.

ITM can’t wait to see how the rest of the awards season plays out!
