Daily Mixx Fixx

By ITM Staff

Today on this In The Mixx Fixx, ITM talks about Ron Burgundy’s long awaited comeback after nearly a decade.

Later on, ITM will show Burgundy’s recent Dodge Durango commercials and how Ben & Jerry’s may be selling scotch.

Up first, Ron Burgundy’s special Weekend News cast.

Saturday, Burgundy did a special co-anchor evening newscasts on KXMB in Bismarck, ND.

Amber Schatz, Weekend News Anchor, Jared Piepenburg, Weekend Meteorologist, and Jon Schaeffer, Weekend Sports Anchor/ Reporter, had their work cut out for them with the addition of Ron Burgundy, circa 1970’s, to the Saturday evening newscast.

While the news team was understandably laughing non-stop, Burgundy held his own and remained professional [and in character] throughout the newscast.

Burgundy shared his experience with the KX News team, “Amber my co-anchor she kept touching me underneath the table which I found very unprofessional and delightful at the same time.  I think I gained quite a respect for Piepenburg, Jared I’d heard not a lot of good things.  I heard he was the weak link and that he was on the verge of being fired, and this kid just stepped up and nailed it.  I haven’t seen weather done like that since 1972, before I went to San Diego and I was in Yuma, Arizona, and there was a guy by the name of Jed Fishman, and Piepenburg is a reincarnation of Jed Fishman.”

Next on ITM, Burgundy stars in the new Dodge Durango commercials.

In these hilarious commercials, Burgundy is seen being what can only be described as himself while promoting special features, including the standard Glove Box.
