Comedy icon David Cross made his directorial debut last week at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival with the dark comedy, “Hits.”

Cross, along with “Hits” star Matt Walsh spoke exclusively with ITM host Gina Giordan about the film, but first the hilarious duo gave an impromptu In The Mixx improv session!

The two went on for almost a minute on an In The Mixx rampage, while barely being able to keep it together! Take David’s advice and “Get In The Mixx!” and click here to see the hilarity!

After the hysterical moment, the very funny director went on to explain his film.

Cross said, “its definitely a story, or an observation on fame in 21st Century America and how you don’t have to do anything to be famous,” he continued, “they don’t have any discernable talent but that’s what they desire just ‘cause they think they deserve it; and maybe they do because in this day and age you don’t have to do anything to deserve it.”

While the film is sure to bring the laughs, it also takes a deeper look into social media and how easy it has made it for people to become, short term or long term- Famous.

Matt Walsh explained the film further saying, “I think it is a neat exploration of, like, fame and what people are willing to do to get it and also people who get it and don’t want it.”

Cross’s new flick begs the question, at what point is someone famous just for being famous?

The director also took time to send some shade Kanye West’s way saying, “He’s married to an example of what I’m talking about.”

While Kim Kardashian may be the poster child for what some would call “famous for no reason,” she’s not the only one. With the introduction of social media websites like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, an entire new genre of fame has opened up.

This dark comedy, which also stars Michael Cera, Erinn Hayes, and Jason Ritter, is sure to make audiences take a second look at where we draw the line of fame worthy and unworthy.

“Hits” definitely gets ITM’s vote for a movie you’re gonna wanna watch!
