USA, USA, USA!
USA Olympian, Jamie Anderson will go down in history as the first Olympic gold medalist in women’s snowboarding slopestyle history!
On Sunday afternoon the 23-year-old took to the slopes to prove that she is well deserving of all the hype that’s been surrounding her for the past few years.
Anderson, who expressed concern earlier in the week about the difficult course and even suffered a shuddering crash leaving her with an aching back explained, “There was so much anticipation leading up to this event, and I just had to calm my mind and have the trust and faith that I was capable of doing what I really wanted to do.”
It seems the Zen approach was just what the doctor ordered!
When the Olympian took her final run, she completed it to near perfection.
While many competitors have cracked under the pressure of taking home the gold, Anderson seemed to flow effortlessly through her last run, proving she had what it takes to win the competition.
At a press conference following the event, the South Lake Tahoe, California native gushed, “I can’t even really process what happened today. It was such an amazing day.”
The gold medalist also shared, “It was such a special moment that I’ll remember forever.”
And remember forever you should, Jamie Anderson! This is such a historical moment for USA Olympics and the country as a whole! ITM is proud and congratulates Anderson on this amazing accomplishment!
