For those of us who fondly recall the electric chemistry on SNL between Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, we’ve got some great news! The pair will star in the upcoming feature “The Skeleton Twins,” and it’s already generating a lot of buzz.
The film revolves around a brother and sister reuniting after ten years of not speaking to each other. Through opening up about their mutual depression and missed opportunities, they reconstruct the close bond they once had.
After the film’s premiere at Sundance, where it won Best Screenplay, critics were quick to praise Wiig and Hader’s deadpan performances. The film also features Luke Wilson and Modern Family’s Ty Burrell in supporting roles.
This more serious turn for Wiig comes right of the heels of her film “Hateship Loveship,” where she played an emotionally vulnerable woman who had a cruel trick played on her. Wiig spoke to MYMM’s Gina Giordan about her turn as a bonafide movie star, check it out here!
