The American Heart Association held its annual “Heart of the Hamptons” Ball over the weekend. The “Glitter, Sparkle & Shine” themed event took place in Bridgehampton at the Hayground School.
And glitter, sparkle and shine, it did!
The event sold out to a crowd of 750 people for the first time ever! For the 16th year in a row, it raised over $2.5 million for the American Heart Association.
“Open Your Heart” Chair, Paola Bacchini Rosenshein, alongside her Co-Chairs Dr. Karl and Krista Krieger, led the event. Emmy-winning television and radio host, Rita Cosby, served as “Master of Ceremonies.”
This year, the event honored cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Leonard Girardi, with the coveted Distinguished Service Award. Additionally, President of Stony Brook University, Samuel L. Stanley Jr., was presented with the Distinguished Leadership award.
Amidst all the action, which included auctions, a dinner buffet, and dance floor, the event garnered overwhelming support from everyone in attendance. Even New York Giant and Super Bowl XLVI Champion, Mario Manningham, attended to share the emotional loss of his grandfather to heart disease.
Also on hand to celebrate the charitable cause were New York Ranger, Rod Gilbert, “Honeymoon Killers” actor Tony Lo Bianco, and “Real Housewives of New York City” stars Jill Zarin and Ramona Singer.
