Selena Gomez is making herself a priority these days. To prove it, she got a permanent reminder!
Perhaps inspired by her recent self-improvement kick, the starlet welcomed an inspirational addition to her tattoo collection, which already includes a music note and roman numeral ”76,” for the year her mother was born.
The new tattoo, written in Arabic script, reads “Love Yourself First.” Gomez hit up her go-to artist, Bang Bang McCurdy, to work his tattoo magic in New York City.
McCurdy, whose resume includes tatooing Cara Delevingne, Rihanna and Gomez’s on and off boyfriend, Justin Bieber, told EOnline that Gomez “had wanted this one for a while.
While Gomez’s tattoo is a self-reminder to love herself, the actress spends plenty of time spreading love through UNICEF as their youngest ambassador. ITM caught up with the actress at UNICEF’s Snowflake Ball where she explained her love of giving back. Watch the full interview here!
Gomez’s natural positivity is a contrast to her role in the upcoming film “Rudderless.” The film centers on a grieving father who copes with the death of his son by starting a band, after discovering his deceased son’s musical talents.
In the film, Gomez plays Kate, the girlfriend of the deceased son. In an interview with Variety, the actress revealed that her character “had a lot of pain and anger behind her.”
Gomez challenged herself with a dark role, but she was able to return to her comfort zone by singing in the film! She is set to appear on the “Rudderless” soundtrack in a duet alongside her co-star, Billy Crudup.
