Actor, writer and comedian Larry David will make his Broadway debut this winter in his first play, “Fish in the Dark.”
The new play is a comedy about a death in a family, with about 15 characters. The Emmy Award winner dished on the his character saying he is “somebody very similar to Larry David – it might even be Larry David with a different name.”
David is best known for his work on television including starring in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” along with co-creating and writing on “Seinfeld.”
David will be stepping in to unchartered waters when making his Broadway debut. The 67-year-old said, “I haven’t been in a play since the eighth grade, when I did ‘Charley’s Aunt.’ I seem to remember wearing a dress. That’s it. And I’m not even really an actor. But I’m still sleeping at night, and I hope that continues.”
We wonder what his on screen co-stars think of the big jump. Looks like his “Curb” wife, Cheryl Hines won’t miss him too much while he’s on the East Coast. Hines recently promoted her latest film, “Life After Beth” and told MYWW host Gina Giordan, “I see him all the time in real life so I miss ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ but I don’t have to miss Larry.”
