Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late comedic legend Joan Rivers has retained a law firm that will file a major lawsuit over her mother’s death.
The firm has been identified as Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz. They are reportedly gearing up to file a malpractice and wrongful death lawsuit against the clinic where Joan stopped breathing along with all the doctors who were involved.
Though it’s said that Melissa retained the firm yesterday, Tuesday, the suit will not be filed for about a month.
According to sources, letters are going out today, Wednesday, to several people involved in Joan’s medical procedure, advising them not to destroy or tamper with any records involving the late legend’s treatment.
While Melissa obviously wants to find out exactly what happened to her mother, there is no doubt the lawsuit is also about money. It has not yet been reported just how much Melissa is seeking.
