Celine Dion has announced that she will resume her Las Vegas residency at Ceasars Palace’s Colosseum in August despite her husband Rene Angelil’s ongoing battle with cancer.

Just last August, the 46-year-old announced that she was postponing her show indefinitely in order to care for her 73-year-old husband who had been recovering from throat cancer surgery.

The famous singer opened up about her decision to head back to the stage this summer, following her husband’s third diagnosis of cancer, saying, “I am scared of losing him, because it’s bad.  But I have to show myself, my husband and my kids that I’m strong and we’re okay.”

The Canadian songstress teared up as she continued, “He wants me to sing again, and I want to do this with him.  Rene will be in the audience.  I promise there will be high, happy notes, but it’s going to be very emotional for me.”

Dion will be returning to the Las Vegas stage on August 27. 2015!
