Melissa Rivers threw some SERIOUS shade at ex “Fashion Police” host Kathy Griffin, who was hired to replace Joan Rivers after her passing in September 2014.

Rivers sat down with Hoda Kotb at the 92nd Street Y to chat about her new book, “The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief and Manipulation,” when the claws came out.  Kotb asked Rivers what she thought of her late mother’s replacement, Kathy Griffin, on “Fashion Police” and the 47-year-old did not hold back!

Rivers was clearly upset with the way Griffin left the show, after just 7 episodes, saying, “My biggest complaint was the feeling that she kind of sh*t all over my mother’s legacy in her statement on leaving.”

Ouch!

The new author continued, “And I know that was not an intention reading of it, but that’s how I felt…  By calling the comedy and the style of it old-fashioned.  It was like, I understand what you were doing, you’re trying to save yourself, but don’t crap all over my mother to do it.”

Kathy Griffin has yet to respond to the harsh words but she did tweet an old interview with the caption, “How does #KATHY deal w/ irked celebs? Find out.”  The video linked to an interview the comedienne did on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Hmmm…. Looks like Griffin wont be apologizing any time soon!
